সোমবার (১৫ এপ্রিল) রাত ১১ টায় নির্বাচনী কার্যালয়, বঙ্গবন্ধু সড়ক, আমতলী, ঠাকুরগাঁওয়ে আয়োজিত সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে লিখিত বক্তব্যে আহসান হাবিব আলমগীর বলেন ঠাকুরগাঁও চেম্বার অব কমার্স এন্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’র দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত প্রশাসক অতিরিক্ত জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট ও নির্বাচন বোর্ডের আহবায়ক সদর উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার বেলায়েত হোসেন অনিয়মতান্ত্রিক বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপের মাধ্যমে আমাদের প্রতিপক্ষ প্যানেলের পক্ষে কাজ করছেন। যা সুষ্ঠু নিরপেক্ষ নির্বাচনের ক্ষেত্রে বড় অন্তরায়।
স্বাক্ষরিত ভোটার তালিকার সাথে বর্তমান ভোটার তালিকার মিল না থাকা এবং জালিয়াতীর মাধ্যমে অন্য একটি পক্ষকে বিজয়ী করার লক্ষ্যে ভোটার সংখ্যা বাড়ানো হয়েছে। এছাড়াও পক্ষটিকে সুযোগ দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে বার বার নির্বাচনী তফসীল পরিবর্তন করা হয়েছে। গঠনতন্ত্রকে উপেক্ষা করে ব্যবসায়ী পেশা বর্হিভূত ভোটার অন্তভূক্ত করা হয়েছে। এব্যাপারে গত ১৩ এপ্রিল স্মারক লিপি প্রদানসহ একাধিকবার আপত্তি জানানো সত্বেও তা কোন ভাবেই আমলে নেননি।

নির্বাচন চলাকালিন সময়ে নির্বাচন বোর্ড বরাবরে আলমগীর-মুরাদ-সুদাম প্যানেলের পরিচিতির লক্ষ্যে ১৪ জনের ছবিসহ নামের তালিকা প্রদান করা হয়। কিন্তু নির্বাচন বোর্ডের আহবায়ক অন্যায় ও নিয়ম বর্হিভূত ভাবে ১৪ জনের মাঝে ১জন স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীর নাম অন্তভূক্ত করেন। এতে করে প্যানেলের ভাবমূর্তি ক্ষুন্ন হয় এবং ভোটারদের কাছে হেয়প্রতিপন্য করা হয়।
ঠাকুরগাঁও চেম্বার অব কমার্স এন্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’র এক সদস্যের দায়ের করা মামলায় ১৫ এপ্রিল ঠাকুরগাঁওয়ের রাণীশংকৈল সহকারি জজ আদালত নির্বাচন স্থগিত ঘোষনা করেন। যা সামাাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ও অনলাইন মিডিয়ায় ছড়িয়ে পড়ে এবং অধিকাংশ ভোটার নির্বাচন স্থগিতের বিষয়টি জানতে পারেন এবং নির্বাচন বোর্ডের আহবায়ক নির্বাচন স্থগিতের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন। পরবর্তীতে বিদ্যুৎ গতিতে রায় ঘোষনার পরপরই আহবায়ক আনিত রিভিশন মামলার রায়ে বিজ্ঞ জেলা জজ আদালত উল্লেখিত রায় স্থগিত করেন। যা জানার পূর্বেই নির্বাচনের কার্যক্রম স্থগিত হয়ে যায়।
নির্বাচন বোর্ডের আহবায়কের অনিয়মের কারণে ঠাকুরগাঁও চেম্বার অব কমার্স এন্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’র সকল সাধারণ ভোটার এবং প্রতিষ্ঠিত ব্যবসায়ীদের মধ্যে চরম উত্তেজনা বিরাজ করছে। যে কারণে ১৬ এপ্রিল নির্বাচন চলাকালিন সময়ে আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতির অবনতি ঘটতে পারে মর্মে নির্বাচন প্রত্যাখান করা হলো।
এছাড়াও নির্বাচন বোর্ডের আহবায়ক ও প্রশাসক ঠাকুরগাঁও চেম্বার অব কমার্স এন্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’র তহবিল থেকে বিপুল পরিমান অর্থ নিয়ম বর্হিভূত ভাবে উত্তোলন ও খরচ করার বিষয়ে সদস্যদের মাঝে অসন্তোষ বিরাজ করছে।
নির্বাচন বোর্ড একটি পক্ষকে বিজয়ী করার জন্য গঠনতন্ত্র বিরোধী ও সীমাহীন অনিয়ম, পক্ষপাত মূলক আচরন পরিচালনার মাধ্যমে একটি পাতানো ও প্রহসণের নির্বাচন আয়োজনের চুড়ান্ত প্রস্তুতি গ্রহণ করায় আলমগীর-মুরাদ-সুদাম প্যানেল ঠাকুরগাঁও চেম্বার অব কমার্স এন্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’র সুনাম, ভাবমূর্তি ও মর্যাদা এবং সদস্যদের স্বার্থ রক্ষার স্বার্থের নির্বাচন থেকে সরে দাঁড়ালো।
এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন মুরাদ হোসেন, শাহজামাল লাবলু, সাহারিয়া মাহাবুব সাওন চৌধুরী, ইন্দ্রজিত গুহ ঠাকুরতা, মোস্তাফিজুর রহমান বাবুল, কাজী আজমগীর হক, মারুফ হোসেনসহ প্রিন্ট ও ইলেক্ট্রনিক মিডিয়ার সংবাদিকবৃন্দ।
উল্লেখ্য, নির্বাচনী তফসীল অনুযায়ী আগামী ১৬ এপ্রিল ঠাকুরগাঁও চেম্বারের ভোট গ্রহণ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। ভোটার তালিকা অনুযায়ী ৫ হাজর ৩৩৮ জন ভোটার তাদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করবেন। এবারের নির্বাচনে দুটি প্যানেল প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বীতা করছেন।
